Chappell, Cheyenne County, Hartington, Kearney, and Nemaha County participate in Technologies Across Nebraska's IT Planning and Mini Grant program

Six Nebraska communities and regional groups were awarded grants to develop local information technology plans for the third and final year of the IT Planning and Mini Grant Program. Recipients of the $2,500 planning grants are Chappell, Cheyenne County, Cuming County, Hartington, Kearney, and Nemaha County.

"We are very excited to take part in this process," said Cindy Houlden, Projects Coordinator for The Development Council and Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Technology Committee Chair. "The technology needs assessment will not only allow us to take inventory of out existing technology resources and develop a plan for the future - it will further strengthen partnerships between The Development Council, The University of Nebraska at Kearney, The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kearney business community thereby making Kearney an even better place to live, work and play."

"Hartington has been a progressive leader in the NE Nebraska region throughout the past many years, said Mike Becker, Chair of the Hartington Community Information Technology Committee.  "As the Internet grows in importance, we hope to assist our current businesses and future business owners and entrepreneurs around the Hartington area.  Withassistance from the IT Planning and Mini-grant Program, Hartington will be able to lead its citizens and the surrounding area into the Information Technology Age. The future of the Hartington area looks very bright."
