Business Use of Information Technology (PDF file), a study conducted
by the Applied Information Management
Institute in cooperation with UNL's
Center for Applied Rural Innovation, finds that "Nebraska
citizens and businesses are about to hit 'critical mass' on the use of
Internet technologies. Once that 'critical mass' is hit, there is
likely to be profound implications to business and commerce as
electronic alternatives become the norm for numerous business
operations and social activities," states this report.
The Target
Industry Study conducted for
the Nebraska Department of Economic Development identifies
agribusiness, financial services, metal products, biotechnology,
electronics manufacturing, and software development as industries that
should be targeted in Nebraska.
Cyberstates
2001, a report from the AeA and the Nasdaq Stock Market, examines
the impact of information technology on the economies of the fifty
states. A press

The Center
for the New West is known for
its work on high performance communities, telecommunications and lone

Metropolitan New Economy Index, a study by the Progressive
Policy Institute, examines the nation's largest 50
metropolitan regions. The study also suggests
economic development strategies for the new economy.
