NITC Meeting
The Nebraska Information Technology Commission will be meeting on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at  1:00 PM.


Digital Cities Survey
Lincoln was recently recognized as one of the top "digital cities" in the nation by the Center for Digital Government in the 2003 Digital Cities Survey.


Statewide Network Update
On December 2, Lt. Governor Dave Heineman, Chair of the NITC, announced the extension of the statewide telecommunications network backbone to North Platte, Alliance, and Norfolk. Lt. Governor Heineman was joined by University of Nebraska President L. Dennis Smith, Dean Bergman of the Nebraska Department of Education, State Telecommunications Director Brenda Decker, State CIO Steve Schafer, Public Service Commissioner Jerry Vap, University of Nebraska Chief Information Officer Walter Weir, and President of Qwest-Nebraska Rex Fisher.
