The Nebraska Information Technology Commission will be meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at  1:00 PM. Additional information will be posted on the NITC Web site.

Statewide Network Update

- PHASE II
On September 18, the State of Nebraska issued an 'Intent to Award' the contract for the Phase II RFP to Qwest Corporation. There are three segments covered in Phase II: Omaha to Norfolk; Grand Island to North Platte; and a "Western Nebraska" aggregation site.

  Communities

Crawford receives broadband grant
Crawford, a participant in Technologies Across Nebraska's IT Planning and Mini Grant program, received a $153,328 grant from the USDA Rural Utilities Service Community Connect Broadband Grant program.  

Communities complete technology plans, begin implementation
After one year, six of the eight communities participating in Technology Across Nebraska's IT Planning and Mini Grant program have completed their technology plans.  Read about their progress in the year-end report.

Grant projects demonstrate effective technology use
A new report highlights the projects funded from the 2002 Community Technology Fund and shares lessons that can be learned from these projects.    

Public Policy Center receives TOP grant
The Bridging the Gap Project will develop an interactive tool that facilitates sharing of data, which often exists in incompatible formats, among social services organizations and the residents they serve.
