MAGIC Awards - 2010

The MidAmerica GIS Consortium ( MAGIC) is an eight-state consortium of GIS practitioners that organizes and hosts the biennal MAGIC GIS Symposium. MAGIC also seeks to recognize GIS leadership and accomplishments by granting awards and recognition. MAGIC currently has three award categories (coordination, innovation, and service).   A number of people from the midwest/great plains area have been nominated to receive MAGIC awards. To assist in selecting the final awardees, the MAGIC Steering Committee asks each MAGIC state to caucus, in some manner, and then submit its caucus ranking for each award category.

To provide an informal caucusing mechanism for Nebraska, please provide your recommendations for award recipients by choosing four in each of the three categories and ranking them (1 thru 4) for each of the three categories (with 1 being the highest recommendation).    Please return your recommendations to Larry Zink, Coordinator, Nebraska GIS Council by no later than Friday, February 5, 2010.  The Nebraska recommendations received will be tabulated and a final Nebraska caucus prioritization will be made by a review committee consisting of Larry Zink, Coordinator, Nebraska GIS Council; James Langtry, USGS Geospatial Liaison to Nebraska and current MAGIC President; and Jeff McReynolds, Lincoln/Lancaster GIS Manager and current Vice Chair of the Nebraska GIS Council.

The "ballot" for Nebraska MAGIC caucus awards recommendations is available here and must be completed and returned by Friday, February 5, 2010.

Information regarding the three MAGIC award categories is available here.
Specific information on each award nominee is available here.

Please return your recommendations to Larry Zink by Friday, February 5, 2010 either by (email Larry.Zink@nebraska.gov) or (fax ATTN:  Larry Zink, 402-471-4864).
